My roommate had just returned from Australia where he had been shooting some video profiles of high-profile customers of his firm, and we were both feeling particularly inspired at the moment, so we went and shot a bunch of B-roll and strung it together into this. Have a look if you're interested, my Milano even makes a few shots.
It's surprising just how cohesive you can make a bunch of b-roll look when you throw behind it the audio from an interview of one of jazz's great minds. You may think this video has no meaning and meanders and is pointless (you'd be right), but it had a lot less purpose and meaning before we threw the voice-over track behind it. This is very off the cuff and very whipped up, so the quality of the shots and editing isn't what it would be for a real effort, but in a way that's a little more honest to the impetus behind this clip, which was to just go out and capture some footage and see if we couldn't make a little tiny something out of absolutely nothing.
Anyway, this was the first little test run for a project related to cars that we're working up. He does film/video for a living, I always enjoyed dabbling in and helping out with the projects that my buddies who were in film school did, but we've never really done anything together. If we like what we see after a couple of efforts then we're going to go ahead and start trying to do something a little bit more formal and pointed, with an emphasis on cars.
He's not much of a car guy per se, but he really enjoys the connections I make with cars, and loves watching Top Gear with me, so he finds the subject matter fairly inspirational and worthy of inspection. We'll see what happens.

Fantastic. Need Moar Alfa. How do you like your Milano though? I've been wanting one lately and been thinking about it as my next Alfa.

Thanks! The Alfa is one of the first cars we're going to profile, as it has an outweighted amount of character and as its owner I have, well, easy access to it. The original cut of this had more Alfa in it, but we decided to incorporate some other material in for some diversity.
I love the Milano, though. It has been surprisingly reliable and a ton of fun to have around for not much money. It was even my daily driver for 9 months, including through the entirety of a Texas summer, which was a bit brutal but totally worth it...for just the one summer, though. Alfa's idea of A/C in 1987 was an asthmatic Italian dwarf blowing through a straw.
I'll probably be getting rid of mine in the next 6 months or so as I don't drive it as often as I'd like and it's worth about the same as some equipment I'd like to buy for a business I'm starting. But, I've been saying that for a few months now and it hasn't happened, and I don't need the money from the sale of the Alfa, so who knows. Such is the irrational pull of an Alfa, I guess.
